the beautiful wine region in Southern Styria.
Southern Styria is a very beautiful place with
exceptionally friendly people.
The region's gentle hills, hot water springs, vineyards, orchards and a Mediterranean atmosphere are the essential ingredients of the Styrian
atmosphere.
The region offers an attractive destination
for a longer holiday or for a relaxing weekend after a business trip
to Graz. It is easily
reachable by car from Graz. Travel time is around half an
hour.

vineyards
Southern Styria is famous for excellent wines and beautiful
landscape. The region is famous for sunny vineyards and is
also the home of internationally celebrated wines from the Sauvignon Blanc to the
Schilcher. |

Gourmet
Walks
The region offers very attractive gourmet walk of between one and
several hours. A leisurely stroll through attractive wine yards is
broken up by visits to local Buschenschanken, a unique
Styrian invention, that offers cold home made food as well as wine
from the vineyard and a selection of non alcoholic drinks. |

Styria
offers an excellent selection of restaurants serving local and
international food. It is famous for its Styrian
Buschenschanken. The region also offers some of the best chestnuts.
Special festivals celebrating the chestnuts and the wine harvest are
taking place in autumn. Abel's Wirtshaus, a local restaurant
near Leutschach, offers traditional Austrian cuisine in an
attractive surrounding. |
