| About
Ebensee
Ebensee is located in the Upper Austrian part of the
Salzkammergut. It is situated on the Traunsee, an attractive lake,
which offers good opportunities for boating and walking.
Ebensee's nearby mountains are however the key attraction. A
cable-car leads up to the Feuerkogel.
The Feuerkogel offers plenty of great opportunities for walking and
trekking. As many of the walks are not very steep, they can be
suitable for children as well as for adults. In winter the
Feuerkogel is a popular skiing destination, offering opportunities
for the beginner as well as for the more experienced skier.

Restaurants
and Gasthauses
Ebensee
Ebensee, like most of Austria's cities, towns and villages, offers a
good selection of restaurants with local and international cuisine.
Very traditional Austrian food like Schweinebraten, can be found in
typical Austrian eating establishments (perhaps best described as
the restaurant for the local people, usually with good atmosphere,
friendliness, nicely decorated, and home-cooked food), which are
called "Gasthaus".
Feuerkogel
At the Feuerkogel you can enjoy traditional Austrian food and
international cuisine either at the Hotel Edelweiss or at some of
the guesthouses and chalets nearby.

restaurants and Gasthaus also offer opportunities to just drop in

non-alcoholic. |

There
are several opportunities to buy some of the attractive Austrian
national dress (Trachten).

chocolates (Mozart Kugel) are also widely available.
There are also regular Farmer's Markets with delicious Austrian
sausages, ham, cheeses, fruits, honey, cakes and other local food
directly from the farm. |
