and Gasthauses Ebensee Ebensee, like most of Austria's cities, towns and villages, offers a good selection of restaurants with local and international cuisine. Very traditional Austrian food like Schweinebraten, can be found in typical Austrian eating establishments (perhaps best described as the restaurant for the local people, usually with good atmosphere, friendliness, nicely decorated, and home-cooked food), which are called "Gasthaus". are several opportunities to buy some of the attractive Austrian
national dress (Trachten). Alternatively Austria's famous gingerbread (Lebkuchen) biscuits and chocolates (Mozart Kugel) are also widely available. There are also regular Farmer's Markets with delicious Austrian sausages, ham, cheeses, fruits, honey, cakes and other local food directly from the farm. |
